Reviews about St Johns Dental Practice
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪St Johns dental is getting worse. My 2 year old daughter has blue tooth and toothache early this year, booked to see emergency care, but ground floor dentist, she said she is too small won't do anything for her, asked me to sign NHS form afterthat. the week before last week, on the raining day my two children waiting for about 20 mintues after appointment time, upfloor dentist only checked their teeth and ask another appointment to see them to do filling. Last Weds My 2 year old girl had toothach at midnight, so I bring her to see dentist again. That same dentist on ground floor, she said she need to move away her blue tooth, need to transfer her to other place. my girl was fine and happy that day no complain toothache, but one and half hour after seen dentist , her upper lip start swelling, and getting worse around 7:00pm, I have to take her to emergency hospital. In children emergency hospital. She was given two difference kinds anti ellergy medicine in difference hours, but both no help to reduce her pain and upper lip swelling. She start had high tempreture on midnight. She also had anti biotic, but no help again. She was done operation to move two teeth in the end. and consultant Graystone said that is mouth infection cause lip swelling.by Lily CHENApril 06, 2017
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I'm not sure if this place has improved since the last time I visited it, but what prompted me to write a review is because I had an emergency situation, and decided to go with a different dentist, since I wasn't very happy with these guys from my previous visits. I first went to them when I first moved to Oxford and was told I had two cavities, which they filled up upon my second visit. The filling popped out almost 3 days later, which then prompted me to simply go to my previous dentist, since I was visiting my old home town. He patched me up well, and it's gone 1 year, and the filling is still in tact. I decided to give these guys another chance, and had to go to them again, when I developed an infection. They changed my dentist without informing me, and the new dentist, insisted I had a cavity on my front tooth and said I needed a root canal on one of my bottom tooth, which hasn't given any problems ever. After chipping my tooth (different from the one that was diagnosed as a cavity) one unfortunate Saturday night, I decided to go to a different dentist in Oxford. He's recommended a root canal on the chipped tooth, because after having an X-Ray done, it showed an infection and dead roots. This is obviously something St John's dental practice did not pick up on, BUT recommended a root canal on a tooth that didn't require one and furthermore diagnosed a cavity on a tooth that was fine. I'm glad I have swapped dentists now. Not to be trusted, I'd say. I would have had all the wrong teeth done work on, had I trusted them.by Gayathri WhiteDecember 28, 2016
