  Terrible practice intent on profits only, avoid at all cost. My first experience was with having a cracked tooth pulled instead of being offered a root canal. I was too young and in too much pain to push the point so I’m now faced with a £2k plus bill for an implant. My second experience was having major tooth decay missed on an x-ray and dismissed as gum pain. After a few weeks of agony and a follow up appointment with a second slightly more competent dentist, I was referred to an Oral and Maxillofacial consultant at the JR. He was livid that the first dentist had not spotted the extensive decay and wrote them a letter of complaint. My final experience with the owner no less was having root canals performed on the same teeth. One tooth had the root canal and a few weeks later was crowned. That lasted less than a year before falling out. On the other tooth they did the initial root canal and advised I wait 6 months to ensure everything had settled down. This wait was concerning and one week before I was due to have the crown fitted all the post etc fell out. Both teeth were eventually pulled at the JR. I politely complained and spoke to the owner about all this. She became defensive and added notes to my permanent medical record mentioning I had been aggressive in that conversation. That was a lie. As an NHS employee myself, I would never be aggressive to other NHS staff. And finally, I was referred to their hygienist and told I would have to pay for two sessions as apparently my teeth were rather bad. No mention of doing it on the house as a good will gesture. Eventually I went private with Eynsham Dental Care to see Jens and what a difference, a consummate professional I have the utmost confidence in.
